Our story
ANTS (Advanced Neuro-rehabilitation Therapies & Sport) was founded in 2015 by Vance Bergeron, researcher at physic laboratory of ENS Lyon (l’École Normale Supérieure).
Vance is quadriplegic due to a bicycle accident in 2013, when a car hit him while he was going to work. When he was at the rehabilitation hospital Henry Gabrielle near Lyon, he decided to create an association with other quadriplegics who share the same passion of sport and challenges.
Since he’s first of all a researcher, Vance became his own guinea pig. He read a lot about muscle electrical stimulation, share with other resarchers, doctors and patients. He merged then sport training and technological progress, and results are in : in a few years he gained more autonomy and enhanced his daily wellness.
- Funding research around neurorehabilitation and neuroprosthetics, to accelerate laboratory prototypes transition to financially affordable industrialized products
- Being a player in the access of new neurorehabilitation technologies deployment, and in the disabled poeple re-sociabilization through sports halls development
- Supporting entrepreneurship, to take over research laboratories and promote the technological transition towards the development and commercialization of products intended to restore mobility to paralyzed people
- Raising awareness among the general public as well as elected officials about technological innovations, responding to the mobility issues of people with neurological disabilities
